Experience in data analysis

BCI has partnered with many clients to transform raw data into actionable intelligence, optimize operations, reduce costs, and enhance customer experiences. For example:

  • At the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), BCI examined billings data for all 128 facilities in 11 regions over a 3-year period. We identified trends, anomalies and analyzed the reasons-not-billable (RNB) claims of the facilities. Our firm identified many misuses of those claims, and the implementation of our recommendations to modify procedures increased VHA collections from insurance companies $24 million annually.
  • At the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA), BCI conducted a workforce study that identified cost drivers, assessed the workforce capabilities, and forecasted future workloads. Our team’s recommendation to consolidate satellite office functions into the main offices was implemented, saving $2 million annually.
  • At the Army, BCI conducted a benchmark study of 58 federal high school internships to assist the Army Civilians in developing such an internship. Our firm examined the internships’ basic characteristics, eligibility criteria, and benefits offered. Based on our analysis, we developed a presentation for Army management with the findings and options for establishing the new program.
  • At ExxonMobil, BCI led a team that conducted a cost-benefit analysis on adding gasoline and diesel storage at a Manassas, Virginia light products terminal. Our team compared the current capacity, forecasted future demand, and recommended the building of two additional light products storage tanks. Our recommendations were implemented and additional revenues were projected to be $16 million over 20 years.
